Waste Data Digest
SEPA has published an annual Waste Data Digest (the digest)
since 2001. It deals with data collected by, or on behalf of,
SEPA on controlled waste in Scotland.
The digest covers waste arisings, recovery and disposal, and
includes data on municipal wastes, as well as on commercial and
industrial wastes.
New format from 2008
A review in 2008 resulted in the creation of a new format for
the digest and it is now presented in two parts:
- Waste Data Digest: Key Facts and Trends - tables, graphs and
text dealing with high-level facts and trends available as an
A5-sized booklet of approximately 40 pages and as Excel
tables
- Waste Data Digest: Datatables - Excel tables presenting
detailed data on municipal and commercial and industrial
wastes
This new two-part format will allow the data to be accessed more
quickly than in previous years. The new format applies from
Waste Data Digest 8 onwards and, whilst the initial range of
information will follow that from previous digests, this is
expected to change over time to reflect customers’ needs.
The site listings at the back of previous digests will no longer
appear in the new format. This information is available from
the site capacity and infrastructure pages.
